Hill Road Jail Overview

Hill Road Correctional Facility is operated by the Lake County Sheriff's Office and is also described by county pages as the Lake County Jail. It is the county's central reception center for people arrested by the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Clearlake Police Department, Lakeport Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and other local, state, and federal law-enforcement agencies.

The facility holds both pretrial and post-trial county offenders. Pretrial means the person has been charged or held after arrest but has not been convicted on the pending case. Hill Road Booking Intake

After a Lake County arrest, the person is taken to Hill Road for booking and intake. Staff create the booking record, record the arresting agency and arrest location, run identity checks, screen for medical and safety issues, inventory property, and assign an initial classification.
